British Food Fortnight

Crisp freshly picked apples, proper crispy chips made with Maris Piper potatoes, juicy Gloucester Old Spot sausages, the list could go on and on. British food in season and at its best, that’s what British Food Fortnight celebrates (run by Love British Food from 17th Sept – 2nd Oct).

It’s a chance for all of us to consider what we eat and buy, and think about buying from British, local producers. Cooking and eating with food that is grown or produced in this country. It not only cuts down on air miles, but the taste is so much better when it’s been grown and picked a few miles from you.

At the Berry Blue Café, we’ll have daily British Food Fortnight specials, either celebrating classic British dishes, or using British ingredients. At the end of the fortnight with have our British themed Dinner at BB evening, on Friday, October 2nd. The menu is again a celebration of British dishes and local and seasonal produce.
